Line Blinding (or Blanking) is done to Isolate Pipelines as part of a Process or as a Safety precaution when 100% Positive Shut Off is required during Shut Downs. While Blinding is being carried out every day by Plant Operators worldwide, however, the Basic Methodology being adopted remains the same for the last 150 years.
CHEMTECH has developed Unique Line Blinds that provide 100% Positive Isolation in a matter of Minutes, compared to Hours spent in Traditional Blanking. Our Line Blind Enhances Safety of Plant & Personnel by eliminating chances of Hazards, Reduces Production Losses due to Blinding by over 95%, and can be operated by a Single Operator.
Traditionally, the most widely used method of Blinding has been to insert a Metal Plate, also called a Blind, manually between 2 Flanges. This approach is fraught with many disadvantages, including:
